We both knew of each other from the restaurant industry. I was a bartender/ server and he was a bouncer/ bartender. I asked him one day "Hey since you know a lot of people around here, do you know anyone who needs a roommate?' He replied with ""Actually I do". Since we didn't know each other well we decided to meet during the day and get to know each other. We met later that week at a spot I knew by the lake. It was summer and a great place to hang out and go swimming when it got too hot. We were hitting it off really well, we were both so excited that we had so much in common. I remember saying "we are going to be the best roommates, and this is so awesome". Well as the sun does we got too hot and decided to jump in. I went first since I knew the spot better than he did. When I jumped I miscalculated the depth, and hit the bottom. Calmly I came up from under the water and said "I think I just broke my leg". Lucky enough that he had not jumped, even tho he was right on my heals ready to take the leap himself. I floated around to the edge, where he helped me up and it was clear, something was injured. Well we head to the ER and sure enough is was broken. They doped me up with pain killers, and as they took effect I became emotional, crying and telling him everything that came to my mind (which is not exactly the first thing you want to do when you are getting to know someone). Well we were both suppose to work that night. We both called in, I obviously not going to make it, he just let them know he was going to be really late. Once out of the hospital he took me to my soon to be new place as his room mate, and I stayed on the couch that night, and needless to say for the rest of the foreseeable future.
