Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! We will have shuttles that will pick up guests at a few designated spots in town and drop them off at the nearby hotels and rental houses. Pre Ceremony- 3:30pm - 4:30pm Shuttles: -Two 14 passenger vehicles running shuttles from BV lodging to the Barn at Sunset Ranch. -Complimentary beers, seltzer, and waters available on the shuttle -Two pickup locations: Best Western + Railroad & Main (parking lot downtown on Main St by the railroad tracks) Pick up times at both locations: 3:30, 3:50 & 4:15pm End of Night Shuttle Guest Shuttle- 8:30pm - 10:30pm -Two 14 Passenger vehicles running shuttles from the Barn at Sunset Ranch back to local lodging. -Groups that are lodging together should plan on catching a ride together to limit wait times. Please note that we will be in the heart of the Rockies, so Uber and Lyft will NOT be available. If you plan to stay in a nearby town, please plan to drive yourself to and from the event.

Question

How can I prepare to be at 8,000 ft. elevation?

Answer

For those of you traveling from sea level, please know that altitude sickness is a very real thing. Altitude sickness may occur in up to half of people who climb to elevations above 8,000 feet and can take a few days to go away. We want you to have the best time at our wedding, so it's important to prepare properly for your visit. If you are flying in, it's recommended that you spend at least one night in Denver or Colorado Springs to allow for acclimation before heading to the mountains. Symptoms of altitude sickness: -headache -nausea -dizziness -throwing up -feeling tired -shortness of breath -faster heart rate -not feeling well overall -trouble sleeping -loss of appetite Things to do to help you prepare: -Hydrate! Start increased hydration for up to 2 weeks before travel -Before traveling and while traveling, be sure to eat full, balanced meals - including plenty of carbohydrates and protein to fuel your body -Avoid smoking and alcohol as these will dehydrate you and cause greater strain on your lungs -Have medications on hand that you know you respond well to (ibuprofen for headaches, dramamine for motion sickness on the drive up, etc.) ***If you have any existing medical conditions, like heart problems, trouble breathing, or diabetes, you should talk to your doctor before traveling to high altitude. These conditions may lead to additional complications if you get altitude sickness.*** Read more at: https://www.healthline.com/health/altitude-sickess-prevention#Symptoms-of-altitude-sickness-
