This is a great trail along the river where you can run, walk, or bike!
Awesome wilderness area for a hike! Come prepared for a 7.1 mile (11 km) trail and wear proper hiking attire. (There's not a lot of elevation in Florida, but the trail is rocky!)
Make sure you try to book tickets online! Check out the hours and ask us for TIPS!!
There's a LOT going on here. Disney Springs is a free outdoor center with food, shopping, and entertainment. Disney World has 4 theme parks on property + 2 water parks. Feel free to ask us for suggestions and tips!
Think bowling, but golf! A great place to spend an evening with food, drinks, and some fun. (you don't have to be an experienced golfer to have fun here)
Local public golf course that is always kept in great shape at a reasonable price. Check golfnow.com for more courses in the area. There are tons!!
Our favorite beach! This is also where Julia volunteers for New Smyrna Beach Turtle Trackers, a nonprofit organization established to protect and preserve sea turtle nesting. It's a 45-minute drive straight East from Sanford. If you want to park, Flagler Avenue is right in the middle of the action! Get there early, and check out many of the lunch spots for a meal after (if you're looking for something authentic, Aunt Catfish's On the River is the spot).
Beautiful State Park with short trails, canoe rentals, boat tours, and a chance to spot manatees (sjökor) and alligators (alligator).
Great restaurant in a beautiful part of Orlando, called Winter Park. Enjoy dinner + drinks and then take a stroll along Park Ave!
Park Ave is a street beautifully set in Winter Park lined with shops, restaurants, and bars.
Best sushi in Orlando!
Best barbecue place in the area, but is also vegetarian & vegan friendly. Famous for their ribs and Mexican street corn. **THIS IS JULIA'S FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN ORLANDO**
Lots of unique flavors!
Awesome restaurant in downtown Sanford with modern American locale.
One of our good friend's business. They have ice cream, marshmallows, and S'mores! (google it)
Tuesday night is Trivia Night. We'd recommend getting a pretzel :)
Great little food hall with a vegan biscuit place, giant cookies, and much much more!
Best farmer's market in Orlando. It's set right in the heart of downtown, so be sure to look for parking!
Nearby small and cozy downtown area. They have a Saturday Farmer's Market, a park filled with dancing Christmas lights (every night), and everything from restaurants, shops, and cafes.
Taco Tuesday is a hit! This is a place nearby the hotel we suggest. Great place for authentic Mexican food!
See where NASA was headquartered and where lots of rockets were shot into the sky!
Take a trip down the beautiful St. John's River, one of the only rivers that flows NORTH! You can rent a pontoon for the day with a group of 6-8 as well as canoes or kayaks. Watch out for gators!
This is our neighborhood brewery. Hidden in a factory area, this brewery has the best beer in town. Show Pigeon is Christian's favorite!
King's Landing is located directly on the waters of Rocks Springs Run, one of three main tributaries that feed the Wekiva River Basin, a designated National Wild and Scenic River. Rent a see-through kayak and explore the beautiful river!
If you read our story, you know this restaurant means a lot to us. Not only does it have the best panorama view over Magic Kingdom, but it also offers the best culinary experiences in Orlando. Make sure to make a reservation in advance! If you have a reservation, you can park for free at the Contemporary Resort in Disney World.
A hidden speak-easy tiki bar inside Tuffy's Bottle Shop. Drinks and atmosphere is awesome, just make sure to make reservations in advance since the bar only seats around 25 people.
Great spot close to New Smyrna Beach. Outriggers is located by the marina and a great stop to make after a day at the beach.
This is a one-way, 11-mile drive meandering through Lake Apopka North Shore. It's a great way to see gators from a safe distance (your car) and to explore more of Florida's wildlife! The drive takes 1–3 hours, depending on how many stops you choose to make along the way. Bring some snacks, water and be ready to spot a LOT of gators on the way.
