It's safe to say that the journey to finding each other was not easy. Christian & Shona went through heartache and loss on the road to meeting each other. In February of 2016, Shona moved to Colorado Springs, where Christian was already living. Within a few days of being in the state, she met Christian. They worked at the same place. Little did they know, their "hello" would turn into a forever "good morning". After nearly 2 years of working together, Christian confessed his long felt desire for a chance to date Shona. From that day forward, the two were inseparable. They dated for several years with true commitment and growing relationships with the children. In April 2022, they moved into a beautiful home in Eastern Colorado Springs where they are raising their 4 children and have 2 fur babies, Penny & Chico. After 9 years, they are both still working together in the restaurant industry.

Shona & Christian have always discussed marriage and long term committment. The vision of what a family, kids, pets and travel looked like was right in line with each others goals. Love is patient, a true testament to their relationship. After being together for over 5 years, they decided to do a big family vacation to Orange Beach, AL and make memories with their family on the beach. On the morning of September 25, 2023, Christian woke Shona up at 5:00am and asked her to get ready, so they could go see the sunrise on their last morning of the trip. As they walked along the beach on a cool peaceful morning, sand in their toes, the sun was beginning to rise. The sky was hot pink and orange, like sherbet. Christian asked Shona to stand beautifully for a picture. When she turned around, there he was. On his knee. Confessing his undying love. Emotions were high. Strangers were cheering us on from the balconies stories high. Everything was perfect. Of course she said YES!!! Yes to him. Yes to the sunrise walk on the beach. Yes to new beginnings together. Yes to forever!
