It all started in a freshman year economics class with Professor Stapp. Miranda was the teacher's pet in the front row, answering each question with gusto. I sat a few rows back mildly paying attention, but probably watching Champions League streams. We met briefly, but didn't talk much. All I knew is that she was beautiful and out of my league.
Fast forward to the end of our sophomore year. After seeing each other again in the summer, I made my move. A first date at Noodles, a hike to Hawksbill Crag, and a few drunken snapchats by yours truly, we started officially dating in July 2013.
We faced our first test in the spring of 2014 when I left for study abroad in Spain for a semester and then a summer internship in Phoenix. Seven months apart was never going to be easy for a new relationship, but we were up to the challenge. Skype dates and an overseas visit from Miranda and two to Phoenix helped us get through it. After that, we both knew it was going to be forever. Life kept on going and we both graduated in 2016 from Arkansas after 5 years each to pursue her teaching certificate and my MBA. Our support of each other has always been unwavering and a key to our success.
Post-graduation, Miranda sought to follow her dream to become a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and as her #1 fan (sorry Allison), I knew she needed to do it. This led us back to Dallas, where we became tenants at my parent's house for a year. During which, I found a little stray in the street and adopted everyone's favorite princess, Leia. We started our little "family" pretty quickly. In August 2017, we moved into a cozy Oak Lawn apartment for a year to enjoy the Dallas scene. But for Leia's sake, we purchased a home in Richardson in July 2018.
Before we moved in, I made the single best decision of my life and asked her to marry me on the patio of our new home. Over one year later and one more puppy, Snoopy, we are excited to finally be tying the knot and having everyone there we love.
