We initially met in Cincinnati, Ohio at a popular bar called Fishbowl At the Banks. Marija approached Christian first while he was working as a bouncer and asked him for his name.

Within 3 weeks after meeting for the first time, Christian had said to Marija, "why don't we just do this thing since I like you and you like me?". Though to an outsider this may have seemed fast, both had a feeling this one was going to last.

While visiting Christian's family in New York, he said "I love you" first and Marija followed.

On a weekend trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee following a last minute cancellation to Marco Island, Florida due to inclement weather. Christian popped the question after a hike at Laurel Falls with an incredible view.
