After swearing off dating apps for the millionth time, my friends convinced me to give it another try - and that's when I matched with Christian on Hinge in July 2022. We had our first date just days after swiping right. After our first date, we followed each other on social media and that's when we realized we had a mutual friend (shoutout Zach Hall!). After that, we discovered there were a few instances where we ALMOST met. There was Zach's halloween party that Christian didn't end up going to and an Indy 500 we both attended, but never crossed paths. A few almost meet-cutes, if you will. He's positive we would have met at some point so since then, Christian likes to tell people we met through a mutual friend instead.

Back in October '25, Christian and I took a long weekend together to go explore the east coast. On our last full day in Portland, Maine, we made (what I thought was last minute) plans to go see the Portland Lighthouse and have dinner nearby. Christian surprised me by proposing and hiring a photographer to capture it all and then take photos for an hour before we called family and friends. People have asked if I had any idea and the answer is no! The stinker had the ring for months hiding in the one spot I'd never bother to look - his golf bag. After I said yes, Christian said, "Before you even ask, yes - everyone knows." So shoutout to everyone who kept the secret! You all did good!
