National Aquarium
This is a must see for kids and adults alike. Get your tickets in advance as they book up quickly during the busy summer weekends. Children under 4 are free admission.
Patapsco Valley State Park - Avalon Area
This is one of our favorite place to go hiking together (and Keith's favorite mountain biking trails). Cross one of the pedestrian suspension bridges or hike past beautiful waterfalls. For a short 1 hour hike, look up the Cascade Falls Loop Trail.
Arundel Mills Outlet Mall
Only a short 9 minute drive from the hotel. Visit the mall and explore Bass Pro Shops, Coach Outlet, Nike Factory Store, or eat at Medieval Times. There is also an adjacent casino (Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland) if you want to try your luck betting.
Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine
This is a great site to go for a walk on the water or to have a picnic in the park. You can also watch the Francis Scott Key Bridge be rebuilt (however slowly).
Hampden neighborhood walking tour
Observe hipsters in their natural environment. Keith took Jana on their second date ever to this neighborhood in Baltimore. You can shop for the arts, record stores, independent coffee shops (Good Neighbor is our favorite), ice cream shops, breweries, a skatepark and more...
Guinness Open Gate Brewery
For the beer drinkers consider visiting the Guinness Brewery. It offers a huge modern complex with a taproom, biergarten & restaurant, plus guided tours & a brand store.
