We met in rookie school. Yes, I know. The cliché. I (Lexi) had just moved to the area and only had one thing on my mind. I was going to pass rookie school with no distractions and become an officer. That should not be hard right. Well..see there was this really cute, annoying, and super competitive guy. The smile...a girl could swoon with those dimples. A little light flirtation mixed with the thrill of a good competition. Keep in mind that we had only been in school for three weeks and my birthday weekend was coming up. I had mentioned to the group of friends that I made that I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do. Good ol' McNabb piped up and said I could go hiking with his cousin and him. Then we could "study" after. The following day I met up with him but his cousin could not make it (hmmm). The whole hike we talked about anything and everything. It was nice (side note: I was trying to breath silently). When we got to the top for our break McNabb pulls out a blanket and snacks. Then proceeds to mention that this was not a date (yea ok). The rest of the hike went pretty well (all six miles of it). We went for drinks and studying at a local bar (we did study and had fun doing it). I don't think I had laughed so much. Then to his apartment for dinner with the cousin and more studying. What happens next is only for a select few. Just know we have been inseparable since. Side note: We graduated 2nd and 3rd in the class.
It finally happened. We were getting rid of the wall in our kitchen. Good friends, decent alcohol. Makes for a great time. Not to mention we got to destroy things. After getting sweaty and dirty it was time to eat. A little bit of music. Some barbecuing. Next thing I know Christian pulls me up from sitting and wanted me to dance. Then BAM. He is on his knee. The answer was a no brainer (almost 5 yrs).
Lexi and I met in Basic Law Enforcement Training. I was crushing on Lexi and had myself convinced I was going to take things slow when I made my move. I saw an opportunity to get to know her better when I learned her birthday was coming up and she didn't really know anyone in town. I invited her and my cousin for a hike (seriously I invited him it wasn't a trick). We hiked like six miles and had lunch on top of crowders mountain. We then went to a local Coffee/bar and studied. We had such a good time we then went back to my apartment and debated Law and got far too drunk. Lexi slept in my room and I slept on the couch. The rest is a secret, and I haven't been able to get rid of her since!
