We were coworkers and acquaintances first. We worked together at Honcho in downtown Clarkston. I actually worked with Christian's older brother, Jesus, first before Christian started. One summer night in 2018, Christian had gotten off work earlier than expected so he came to sit over in my section at the bar. I was vegan at the time and in an effort to try to impress me, he asked me what good vegan food Honcho offered and what I would recommend. I recommended my favorite, the brussel sprout burrito. It was a slow night and I didn't have many other people to serve so we ended up talking for most of the time he was waiting. At some point I wrote down my phone number and gave it to him and told him "hey, you should have my phone number just in case." LOL! After he left I picked up the ticket and realized he had tipped me way more than 20% on his bill. When I went to clock out for the night I had 3 text messages from him already, anticipating my response. We continued texting for the rest of that night and 2 days later we had our first date. We dated about every other day for 2 more weeks until we made it "official". Now here we are 4 years later...GETTING MARRIED!!!
Christian made us reservations for The Fed in Downtown Clarkston. We shared a fancy meal and soaked up each other's company. Afterwards he told me we were going to stop by my house just to gather my things for work the next day. What I didn't know is while we were at dinner, he had enlisted my mom and sister to go into our home and light close to 100 candles. They lit the candles and turned on anything and everything that lit up. They arranged the candles in a "U" shape in front of our Christmas tree. When we stopped home from dinner, I was greeted by the amazing smell of all these candles and the romantic ambiance. We walked over in front of the Christmas tree and he had a whole speech prepared. Neither of us could get through it without bawling. He asked me to marry him and I said "OF COURSE!!" and we cried our happiest tears together!
