The Bride: How We Met

April 27, 2018

I played on a coed softball team with some friends and strangers. On this day, I received word that my friends wouldn’t make it and I had to decide whether or not to play with people I hardly knew. Thankfully, I did. At the field, my teammates told me that we didn’t have enough people and we were about to forfeit. If you know me, you know I am competitive and this wasn’t going to fly. I walked over to the benches, where a team that had just finished was sitting down about to watch our soon-to-be canceled game. I asked if anyone could sub in so we could avoid forfeiting, when two guys volunteered (enter Christian and Andrew) Out on the field as the game began, I remember talking to these two guys with my friend, super nice gentlemen. I found myself cheering louder and louder for them throughout the game, even more so for this cute boy with braces that was quite athletic. Later that night, Andrew tells me to cheer for Christian by calling him “Cmoney.” The next time he went up to the plate, I found myself screaming “Go Cmoney” at the top of my lungs. This allowed me to see him blush and have a small freak out. Quite entertaining, I kept doing it. The game eventually ended. At the end of the night, we all sat and watched the next team play. As I sat there, I talked with a friend about my future, about job options that were placed in front of me, about how confused I was. **Que Cmoney walking up** He just joined in the conversation like it was nothing, if you know Christian, you know that’s so him. I remember him listening to me and giving great input; I remember thinking to myself - I wonder why this guy cares so much? Surely, this is weird? Wow, he’s kind of awesome. This sold me. A few minutes later, who are we kidding, it’s Christian and I talking together, 30 MINUTES LATER, I waved bye and headed to my car. This was when the lovely Cmoney ran after me. He asked me out to dinner, and we have been inseparable ever sense. THANK THE LORD I went to that game.

The Groom: The proposal

June 7, 2019

The story starts with us traveling to Seattle. My plan was to propose in the top of the space needle and I had it fully confirmed the day before the trip. Needless to say… I was nervous when we arrived to the space needle. Unfortunately, a CEO of a company had reserved the entire needle for a party. This was not confirmed with me the night before obviously and through me for a loop. I then upset tried to keep my emotions in and looked up Kerry Park. (A beautiful park with the best view of the Seattle skyline). Unfortunately, for me it was chilly out and she wore a dress. We got there and she complained of being cold. She told me it was too cold and she wanted to leave. Of course, I was already stressed to the max and noticed a girl in the park wearing a coat. At this point, my frustration had hit a boiling point and I told her “Look at that girl in a coat, she was smart, you should be more like her”. Of course this did not sit right with her and not only did, a proposal not happen neither did speaking the rest of the night. Crazy Night and situation I know. After that the next morning we had brushed off the night before and I had a new plan. We were going to Mt. Rainier (about a 2-hour drive from Seattle) we got there and drove to the base of Rainier where it was full of snow and pouring down more. We got out of the car, took some pictures, soaked up the view and got back in. I mustered up some courage and told her lets get out and soak it all in one more time. At that point, I dropped to a knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes and we were engaged in not only the perfect location but also the perfect state. The space needle would have been great but we all know that everything happens for a reason and Mt. Rainier with the snow falling and with a rock nerd there was no better place or moment to pop the question.
