We're getting married!

Déjà and Christian’s story began in 2018 with a swipe on Tinder that turned into something neither of them expected. At the time, Déjà was living in New Orleans, attending Dillard University, while Christian was in Michigan. Despite the distance, they quickly discovered a deep connection—made even more special by the fact that they were both originally from Michigan. In February 2018, they made it official, committing to a long-distance relationship built on trust, patience, and countless late-night calls. For two years, they learned how to love across miles, cherishing every visit and growing stronger with each challenge. In 2020, the world shifted, and so did their story. When the pandemic brought Déjà home from school, the distance finally disappeared. No longer long distance, Déjà and Christian began building everyday life together and making even more memories. From dates and trips, to bonding with each other’s family and friends, these years were filled with growth, love, and shared experiences that brought them even closer. From 2020 to now, their relationship continued to deepen as they supported one another’s dreams, celebrated milestones, laughed through inside jokes, and created a life rooted in friendship and partnership. In February 2025 during a friends’ cruise trip to the Bahamas, Christian proposed to Déja just before the ship set sail. It was the perfect moment and a beautiful beginning to the next chapter of their story. Now, Déjà and Christian are so excited to celebrate their love and begin forever together, surrounded by the family and friends who have supported them every step of the way.
