WE ARE SO EXCITED TO CELEBRATE WITH YOU!

We knew each other mutually through our youth group at our church (shout out to Jesus) where we were both very involved as friends! But, it was the summer of 2016 where everything changed! Through a mutual love of Chinese Food and Teen Beach Movie, what began as a friendship and hanging out all the time at either Disney or on a retreat, our relationship was definitely expected! It was not until the end of summer (very Danny and Sandy of us) that we realized "my gosh, we like....really like each other more than friends" and from then, the rest is history!

Just to give a little back story into the sentiment of the proposal, one day in 2019, Christian and I spent an entire afternoon watching Disney Fairy Tale Weddings and one of the men proposed to his lady via flash mob in front of the Disney castle (which I said I NEVER wanted) to the song "You're Making My Dreams Come True." Christian loves Hall & Oats and I love over the top, attention seeking moments, so it was expressed how much I would LOVE a flash mob, but didn't think Christian could pull it off. Flash forward to the summer of 2021 where we were both serving at Camp Hidden Lake from May to August. EVERYDAY, Charlene would say she was going to marry Christian to any and everyone....mainly the girls she worked with in the kitchen (sorry ladies), just did not know when. Unbeknownst to her, Christian had brought the ring to camp and had it cleared to propose at the end of summer! Come August, what started as a day of formation with our service crew and fine dining at Johnny B's, ended with Charlene being taken away from camp to set up the most perfect proposal! Consisting of the friends turned family at their home for the summer, Charlene was led down the hill to a flash mob to none other than the Hall & Oats classic song, "You're Making My Dreams Come True," where confusion quickly turned into JOY! Christian swept Charlene off her feet, down to the middle of the dock where down on one knee, her asked her to journey to Heaven together and spend the rest of their lives together! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Florida!
