AJ and I met initially through a mutual friend at a party many, many years ago. We became casual acquaintances, seeing each other only when groups of friends got together. Years passed, at the time MySpace was still a thing, so of course we were friends because who wasn't friends on MySpace, right? I believe it was AJ who messaged me first wanting to catch up because he was going to be on leave for the holidays from the Navy. I said sure, I had not seen him in quite some time so we planned a coffee date at The Living Room on El Cajon Blvd. Truth be told, when the day came, I almost cancelled on him because I had a rehearsal that evening for a friend's wedding. Let's just say, I'm glad I didn't because unbeknownst to us at the time, that coffee date would become what we consider our very first date. Just about a month later, AJ (though off in Washington playing Navy) asked me to be his girlfriend and of course I said yes! Fast track eight years later almost to the date, surrounded by family and friends, AJ surprised me at the very same Living Room where we'd had our first "date" and asked me to be his wife! Two years later we finally get to celebrate with you all and we cannot wait!
