The Wedding Website of Christian White and Abby Owens
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Smart (aka dressy) Casual! We are well aware that it will be HOT outside, and we encourage you to dress accordingly! You are welcome to wear any light summer fabrics and outfits, provided they are dressy casual and fitting for a chapel. We do ask for no t-shirts or jeans please. Outfit ideas for women: summer dresses (any length), jumpsuits, rompers, flowy pants or skirts. Outfit ideas for men: nice golf course attire or Sunday best. Please note that nice shorts are fine, you are not limited to long pants! For both: any shoes are fine, but please, no flip flops.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please kindly RSVP by May 31st. This will be a huge help to us with finalizing plans with different vendors and making sure we have enough of everything for everybody.

Question

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

We do not expect or require any gifts! We are very happy that you choose to share this day with us, and we know you will spend money on travel and lodging just to do so. If you insist on a gift, we ask that you buy directly from our registry or contribute to one of our cash funds. We would rather not keep track of physical gifts on wedding day!

Question

How early should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

We ask that you arrive no earlier than 3:30pm and no later than 3:50pm for a prompt 4pm ceremony start time. Parking is a 2-5 minute walk from the chapel (5 only if we have to use overflow parking). There will be signs indicating both the parking lot and the way to the chapel. We appreciate you respecting our time!

Question

Is the ceremony indoor or outdoor?

Answer

The ceremony will be held indoors at the Baughman Center. The venue is a chapel with A/C; however, we do not control the A/C. Please keep the doors shut as much as possible to help keep the temperature down!

Question

Is the reception indoor or outdoor?

Answer

The reception will be indoors at the Harn Art Museum. Plenty of A/C and plenty of parking there for all!

Question

Do I have to stay for the entire reception?

Answer

Not at all! The reception will consist of dinner followed by music, dancing, and just general time together. We understand if you need to leave early. Please find us and say goodbye if you leave before us - we love that you are able to be there!

Question

What food will be provided?

Answer

A full dinner will be provided at the reception! We are catering from Sweetwater Branch Inn, and expect food to be available to guests beginning at 5:30pm. IMPORTANT: If you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please get in touch and let us know ASAP!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! You should be able to do so in your RSVP, but if not, please get in touch with us and we'll ensure you have food you can enjoy.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

There is parking at both the Baughman Center and the Harn Art Museum. Parking for the Baughman Center is in the lot immediately to the right of the chapel, with overflow being in the lot across the street. At the Harn, you may park in any of the lots directly in front of the museum. Both parking lots are available free of charge.
