Please note: we plan to second line to the reception, so please wear or bring comfortable shoes that you can walk and dance in! Also, most of the reception will take place outdoors, so please dress accordingly.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will be a Catholic Mass that starts promptly at 4pm, please arrive early.

Question

What is a Second Line?

Answer

A Second Line wedding parade is a New Orleans tradition that involves a brass band leading the newlyweds and their guests from the ceremony to the reception, followed by all the other guests who want to join in! Parade participants walk, dance, wave a handkerchief, or twirl decorative parasols in rhythm to the sound of the brass band as they make their way down the parade route. A great way to start the reception party!!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! We have room blocks at The Pontchartrain Hotel, Hotel Tonnelle, and Windsor Court. Please refer to the "Travel" tab on the website for direct links. There are many other great hotel options and Airbnb's in the city. The events will take place in the Lower Garden District and Uptown, which are easily accessible from Downtown or the French Quarter by streetcar or a quick Uber/Lyft.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We will not have transportation from the hotels to the ceremony. However, we will provide transportation from the ceremony to the reception. The ceremony, located at Holy Name of Jesus Church (Loyola), is a quick streetcar or Lyft/Uber ride away from the hotels.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is plenty of free street parking along Saint Charles and around the ceremony and reception. However, we highly recommend not driving. Please do not drink and drive, thank you!

Question

Most importantly, where should we eat??

Answer

New Orleans has many fantastic restaurants with so much flavor and culture. We hope you enjoy some of our favorites that we have listed in the "Things to Do" page of our website!
