A Second Line wedding parade is a New Orleans tradition that involves a brass band leading the newlyweds and their guests from the ceremony to the reception, followed by all the other guests who want to join in! Parade participants walk, dance, wave a handkerchief, or twirl decorative parasols in rhythm to the sound of the brass band as they make their way down the parade route. A great way to start the reception party!!
Yes! We have room blocks at The Pontchartrain Hotel, Hotel Tonnelle, and Windsor Court. Please refer to the "Travel" tab on the website for direct links. There are many other great hotel options and Airbnb's in the city. The events will take place in the Lower Garden District and Uptown, which are easily accessible from Downtown or the French Quarter by streetcar or a quick Uber/Lyft.
