After much thought and consideration, we have decided that, in the interest of the health and safety of our loved ones, we will not be going forward with our wedding as scheduled for July 25th. On the bright side, we will be wed sooner than anticipated. We plan to have a small ceremony on May 23rd with our immediate families. We are sad not to have all of you with us for our ceremony. It is our hope to celebrate this joyous occasion with everyone at a later date, but due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, we are unable to make any set plans at this time. We will keep you posted. Thank you for all of your continued support, keep us in your prayers as we start our marriage. We will be sure to update this website with pictures from our ceremony, as well as any updates regarding rescheduling the celebration. With much love, Drew Ward and Christy Greene, (soon to be Ward)
Christy and Drew met as campers, and then eventually summer camp counselors at Camp Orchard Hill in Dallas, PA. At the end of the summer, the two decided to give long distance a shot, as Christy was enrolling at the University of Arizona, and Drew already attending Virginia Tech. As time went on, the distance grew smaller and smaller, and the relationship grew stronger and stronger. Christy moved back to NJ and enrolled in school there, eventually ending up at James Madison University, with Drew moving to Richmond, VA, only 2 hours away. Being closer meant spending much more time together, and the relationship continued to progress. On February 23rd, 2019, Drew proposed to Christy in his hometown of Warrenton, VA. The two plan to live together in Richmond, VA following the wedding, with Christy pursuing teaching, and Drew continuing his career in Civil Engineering.
