We met the first day of Boiler Gold Rush at Purdue University in the Earhart dining court. Christian was waiting in line at the Italian section when Kate walked up behind him. Just like any new college student, Christian was looking to make some new friends and Kate was the lucky culprit behind him in line. Christian introduced himself to Kate, inviting her to come eat lunch with himself and Sam Nunez. The rest is history. We hit it off that day and became great friends. Over the next few weeks, our friendship grew into a relationship.

Christian had high hopes of proposing during an ocean sunrise but with inclement weather near the ocean, he had to modify plans. Christian asked Kate to go to one of their favorite local hiking spots in Maryland that has a beautiful overlook. As they got to overlook, he wanted to get a few pictures. After checking how some of the pictures turned out, he set the camera up in video to capture the moment to come. Christian got down on one knee as Kate tended to Mari. As Kate turned towards him, the question was popped. Kate answered "YES" and we were engaged.
