In summer 2011, Jill was a lifeguard and counselor at Camp Lohikan, the sleepaway camp she had attended as a camper. Christian, looking for a summer job, came to camp to manage the Sports Center. The two became co-captains of the Summer Olympics, led their team to 2nd place, and agreed that once summer ended, they would go their separate ways. Absolute fail. They dated long distance for a year, Christian at the University of Florida and Jill in Binghamton, New York. In spring 2012, Christian got a job in New York and moved north. After Jill graduated in 2013, they were finished with long distance dating! Over the past nine years, they have built their careers in NYC, learned new skills (she taught him to ski, he taught her how to use a power drill), and traveled the world. Every December, they go to Rockefeller Center to watch the ice skaters, and every summer they go to a Zac Brown Band concert. In 2018, they moved into their first apartment together in Hoboken, New Jersey. In October 2020, Christian suggested an overnight in Montauk before a weekend trip to Rhode Island. While watching the sunset at Montauk Lighthouse, he proposed! We’re so excited to be married and can’t wait to celebrate our 10 year anniversary with you this summer! xoxo Jill & Christian
