Depot Park
Once a rail yard, this 32 acre plot of land is now a vibrant greenspace and Gainesville gem. The park features a large playground and splash pad, scenic walking trails, open lawns ideal for a picnic or frisbee, and a waterside promenade for a casual stroll. Plus there's a few casual restaurants for a quick pit stop if you're hungry.
4th Ave Food Park
Good food, good drinks, good times! This unique open-air destination in Gainesville offers a wide variety of eats with a charming outdoors seating area, from Detroit-style pizza and artisan bagels to craft sausages and specialty coffee in a vintage Airstream, plus tacos and a craft cidery.
La Chua Trail
A scenic 1–3 mile out‑and‑back boardwalk in Payne’s Prairie, where guests can spot alligators, sandhill cranes, bison and more at Alachua Sink. One of the best places in town for guaranteed gator glimpse.
Haile Farmers Market
From 9am-12pm every Saturday. We especially love that it's outside but in the shade and that you get to shop from local vendors. They have everything, from coffee, to food, to wood crafts. Say hello to the Pickle Guy if you see him!
UF Bat Houses
Visit the world’s largest occupied bat houses on the UF campus—home to roughly half‑a‑million bats. Make sure you arrive a little before sunset so you find parking and can watch the massive bat flights over Lake Alice, a magical, slightly spooky experience.
