We did what every sensible single adult does these days and turned to an app to help us find love. We met on Bumble and started texting shortly after. We made a plan to go on our first date, but Mandy got called into work and couldn’t make it. Later that night, Mandy text Josh and had him come hang out while the two watched Dunk History on Hulu for hours. Josh’s friends were not thrilled that he bailed on them that night to go meet up with Mandy, but they would grow to love her eventually so it’s fine. After a few dates, we became officially a couple.
It began as a normal trip to our home away from home in Fruitland, UT. We had a great conversation about music on our drive up while Mandy reveled in nostalgia listening to music from her high school days. When we got to Fruitland, Mandy needed to eat something for dinner and Josh said he wanted to go hike up to the lookout point. Mandy finished dinner and the two of them began the little hike to where you can look down on Currant Creek and his parents property. It was sunset so it was such a gorgeous view. Josh very much so surprised Mandy by getting down on one knee, holding out the most beautiful ring, and asking “Do you wanna be a Baker?” Obviously she said YES and here we are, getting married!
