We met at an event called, "Awaken" now called, "Worship in the Park" which is a gathering where you worship God in the heart of Dallas at Kylde Warren Park. Christen's Perspective: I loved talking to him. He made me feel like the only girl in a crowd of people. When he spoke, he looked me in the eyes with a big smile and it made me feel special during a time that I was feeling discouraged with guys in general. I don't remember much about what we talked about because I was too busy thinking, "Who is he? I've never seen him before. It seems like he loves God." I walked away intrigued, but I didn't allow myself to entertain the idea that he may be interested in me. That evening, I casually mentioned to my community group (a group of girls from my church who are committed to following Christ that I meet with once a week), "One of you guys should date him. He seems really cool". I'm glad he ended up pursuing me a few weeks later... Drew's Perspective: I was talking to a buddy I hadn't seen in a while and I asked, "Who is that?" He answered, "Christen" and moved on like it wasn't that big of a deal. I thought it was! She was talking with a mutual friend of ours, Laura Dunson. I walked over, said hello, and jumped into the conversation. Shortly after, Christen's community group came over. It was good to have her community there, as I knew I would need their approval in the long run anyway. ;) 3 weeks went by and I hadn't seen Christen since. I was bummed but determined. One night, after The Porch, I saw Laura and her now husband Phil and asked, "How well do you know Christen Anderson?" Laura's eyes got big and her smile grew as she responded with one word, "YES!". About 30 minutes later, Laura texted me and said, "We are going on a double date next week."
