In November 2017, I decided last minute to join a group of friends at a Sabres game. When I got there, I was introduced to Chuck. At the time he was living in Buffalo and going to UB, just like me. My friends kept trying to get us to talk, but we were sitting a few seats away. After the game, we all planned to get something to eat. However, the plans didn't line up and we ended up going to separate restaurants. Nothing happened after the game and we didn't end up getting in touch. Months later in March 2018, I downloaded Bumble. Within an hour I had matched with Chuck and remembered him from the Sabres game. I messaged him right away. A few days later we went on our first date at Spot Coffee. We stayed and talked for more than two hours. As soon as we both got home, we knew it was something special.
In October 2020 we were taking a day trip to Ellicottville. I thought we were just going to visit the breweries and walk some trails. We arrived at a park where the trail opened up to a large lake overlooking the view. As we continued walking, Chuck suddenly stopped. I turned around and he was down on one knee. After a few seconds of shock, I said yes! We then spent the rest of the day calling family and friends to celebrate.
