Christal and Charles’ story started back in 2016. Christal’s daughter, Aaliyanah, was trying out for Charles’ AAU team, and it was the very first night of practice. The moment Christal walked into the gym and laid eyes on Charles, she immediately texted her best friend, Marshae, saying, “I want this man!” From that day forward, Christal made sure she showed up to practices looking a little extra cute—just in case she caught his attention. And sure enough, she did. Not long after, Charles reached out to her on Facebook, and the rest was history in the making. Their courtship sparked quickly. They dated off and on for a few years—always laughing, always drawn to each other. Life would separate them for a season, but somehow, they always found their way back. Every time the relationship paused, months or even years later, they’d reconnect as if no time had passed at all. The final time they linked back up was in October of 2023, and this time was different. From that moment on, they haven't stopped communicating. What once was on-and-off became steady, intentional, and full of purpose. It felt as though life had finally aligned their hearts at just the right moment. A love that circled back, time after time—now standing exactly where it was always meant to be.
