About three years ago Chris and Wil swiped right on each other on Bumble. On Bumble, the woman is the one that has to send the first message. Therefore, Wil was the first to initiate the conversation and Chris got enticed by the positiveness manifested in her messages. Their first date was at The Fairmount (Wil’s favorite bar). Long story short promises were made (Wil told him, she would text and invite him to their next date), failed kisses occurred (Chris tried to kiss her, Wil didn't even realize it), and impressions were made on this date. After almost 2 weeks Chris texted Wil (realizing Wil was not going to keep her promise) and the rest is history.

In August 2021, Chris asked Wil to go on a kayak trip to the Rocky River Reservation Marina. After the trip, Chris went to a segregated area close to the marina, where he prepared a picnic for Wil (like he always does). In their hiking/kayak trips, Chris typically brings a book to read during snack time, so Wil asked him which book he had brought. He responded that he didn't bring one for himself, and instead, he brought one to share with her. He then showed a book with pictures and cartoon characters of them. In the book, Chris shared why he was in love with Wil. As a girl would normally do, Wil started to freak out, thinking something was wrong because Chris had never been so romantic before. Chris responded that things were going so great that he gets excited thinking about them together and their future. He then got on his knee and asked Wil, will you marry me?
