Just as a wild girls’ night filled with wine, dancing, and off-key singing was starting to wind down, one of our girlfriends decided to invite a few boys over. They had just finished closing out their tabs at a local bar and headed our way. As they walked through the door, one of them immediately caught my eye—Will. A few beers and some competitive card games later, Will really started to shine. He was funny, handsome, and genuinely kind—and somehow, time completely slipped away. When it was finally time to say goodbye, Will disappeared to the bathroom, and I panicked.
