Welcome to our forever!

Christa: "I wasn't even supposed to be there I think about that a lot. I had a family trip to the beach that weekend and we were supposed to leave that day. Something happened where we had to push it back a day, so I called my friend Heather to let her know I'll be stopping by her going-away party. The first thing she says to me is 'So hear me out...' I walked into a unplanned double blind blind date lol" Jeremy: So there I was at my co-workers going away party and in walks a stunning lady, Heather introduces me to her best friend Christa and I was instantly drawn in by a dazzling smile. From that first moment we clicked. From chatting outside watching the dogs playing, showing our competitive sides in beer pong, to learning that Christa has more scarfs then shoes during a trivia game! Every moment of that party was wonderful and so when I left I naturally shook Christa's hand goodbye and wished her a great day haha. It took me about 3 weeks to realize that I wanted to get to know the lady at the party more than just she's a great karaoke singer. So I asked Heather if she would share my number with Christa. From that day it has been messages everyday, walks along the beautiful greenways in Charlotte, and many more memorable moments. I've enjoyed every day of our lives together and am looking forward to each trial, victory, and memory being made in the future with my lovely lady that I love so much!

Christa: "At this point we were dating for about 4 months; Jeremy was coming up to Charlotte about every weekend or so. I was overthinking everything of course, and then Covid shut the world down. No job, dealing with unemployment, and the unknown of the fate of EVERYTHING, starting a company and so much more...I honestly don't know what I would have done without him there through everything. Despite the the pandemic bringing a lot of sadness and lost, 2020 was one of the best and fulfilling years of my life because of him! Jeremy: During the lockdown I was fortunate enough to have a steady job with the Air Force and that my job was vastly reduced. Not many planes flying meant that I had a lot of time to spend with Christa. Walks on the greenways and all the meaningful conversations during that time helped us understand who the other was and show that we were a great fit. While the pandemic will be remembered for many things, for me it was where I found the love of my life.

Jeremy: February 21st, a big day in my life! The day I was going to propose to Christa and make a commitment to her forever! I had spoke with her parents, Mr. Tommy and Mrs. Jackie Byrd, and after a wonderful dinner with great questions and stories I had received their blessing. I coordinated with her sister, Tysha, about the plan and then it was show time! We had just got back to her apartment after singing at church and I suggested taking a walk on the greenway. As we were getting ready, she found a receiver pack from church in her pocket and said we need to drive the 30 min back to return it. I was secretly worried about the plan being off time so I said we could do it after we got back. She insisted and I had to put my foot down, "this walk is going to happen, let me call the church to return the pack later". So now we're on the greenway and Christa says "We need to have a talk about how you speak to me", I said "we're going to look back on this conversation and laugh one day but let's get into it now". After the talk, we're finishing the walk and heading up a hill to the entrance Christa notices some balloons says, "oh look someone is having a birthday party" I slow down and get on one knee and say "There's special days for everything and today I'm asking you to be my Wife, will you Marry me?" As I'm asking Tysha is coming up with photos, Tommy is springing up from behind a car with the video and Jackie is with Tristan after placing the balloons. A wonderful day!!!" Christa: How can I follow up to that story! All i can say is that it was definitely a pleasant surprise and I'm glad we were able to capture that moment. I literally had no idea. He was trying to get me dressed up and I was like "We're going for a walk, why do I need to put on something else. My sweater is fine" lol
