Christa and I both attended Mustang High School, but we never crossed paths at school. Instead, we met on my second day of work at the Mustang Community Center. Christa had already been working there for a year and it was her responsibility to train me. Our working relationship quickly turned into a friendship. We turned everything into a competition, swapped CDs, and got to know each other over work breaks and cleaning the gym. Finally, mere weeks from Christa moving away to college, I asked her on our first date to breakfast at Chick-fil-A. The chicken biscuits and hash browns sealed the deal.
I was told my sisters and I were taking a flower arrangement class at a new bakery + blooms shop in Oklahoma City. My sisters and I make a point to visit the new restaurants and shops in Oklahoma City, so this was nothing out of the ordinary for us. I knew Bradley was completely pre-occupied that evening because it was the same day as the Bedlam college football game. My sisters and I walked into the shop. The building was dim with candles lit everywhere. I turned to my sisters behind me and commented on how intimate everything looked. I still had no idea. I turned forward to face the store front and Bradley walked around the corner. I was in complete shock! My sisters snuck out and it was just the two of us. Bradley walked towards me, asked me to remove my mask (lol), and began his proposal. After I said yes, the manager of the store came to greet us. She had mentioned Bradley had planned for us to commemorate the occasion by arranging a dried bouquet together that we could keep forever. It was the sweetest touch to the most amazing day.
