When Christa was in her first year at Texas A&M University-Commerce her mother, Sandra, made her go to the largest student graphic design show, The National Student Show and Conference. Her mom got her an extra ticket so she took her fellow classmate and friend, Ericka. Christa and Ericka were the only ones from their TAMUC class that went, which kind of made them feel a little bit out of place. They did, however, recognize one of their professors and a few other older class men from TAMUC. One of those upperclassmen ended up being Alex, and he and his fellow friend, Reese, introduced themselves to Christa and Ericka and made an effort to get to know them. This was the start to Christa and Alex's friendship, which would eventually turn into their love story.

Alex was a year ahead of Christa in college. It wasn't until Alex graduated that he finally started to show a little bit more interest in Christa. As soon as he graduated he started to spend more time with Christa before she left for her study abroad trip that following month. While she was in England studying abroad, Alex faced timed her every-night except for two nights. Those two nights they missed talking was because Christa had something going on that prevented her from being able to talk. When she got home they continued to get to know each other. It was until 08.05.17 that Alex asked Christa to be his girlfriend. The two have been together ever since.

On 12.15.18 Alex took Christa to the Enchanted Christmas Tree Maze in Arlington to meet their friend, Morgan, and look at Christmas light. Christmas is Christa's favorite holiday and she loves to look at Christmas lights, that is why Christa thought they were going to Enchanted. The point of Enchanted is that there is this elaborate Christmas Tree Maze which is a scavenger hunt, so as you go through it you are looking for big sculptures of toys made out of Christmas lights. This is not an easy task to do, due to how big the maze is. It took the three of them two hours to find all of the toys that they there were supposed to find. After finding their last toy which was a teddy bear, they went to take some pictures inside a Christmas Tree arch. After the third photo, Alex asked Morgan if she wouldn't mind taking one more photo Christa and him together. On that last photo, Alex got down on one knee and whispered to Christa, Will you marry me? Christa eagerly nodded yes and stuck out her hand for him. She was too excited/happy/shocked to squeeze out any words.
