WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!

How Lisa tells it: I downloaded Hinge and figured, "what do I have to lose"? As it turns out, it was one of the best decisions I will ever make! I was on the app for 5 days when Chrissy and I matched - SHE SWIPED FIRST! When I got the notification, I had just parked at the gym and was about to head in for class. During the workout, I was distracted and anxious to get back to my phone so I could start a conversation with her. After a week of good conversation, many text messages, and emojis (on her end), our schedules finally aligned. I chose for our first date to be at Steady Hand Brewing - a place neither of us had been before. Despite Chrissy ordering a lager (ew), we instantly clicked, and I knew this could be the start of something very special. Don't worry everyone, she is strictly an IPA drinker now! How Chrissy tells it: I was trying out the Hinge dating app, and swiping through some very unpromising profiles, when I came across Lisa's pictures. In excitement, I turned to my friend and said "WOW! I'm gonna marry this one, just watch" as I swiped right. Don't be fooled, I was not the hopeless romantic type at the time, so my friends were quite surprised by my reaction, but I just couldn't explain it - She was exactly what I was looking for! Our first date lasted for hours - even though Lisa arrived late (for the first and only time in her life)! After many very long text conversations and brewery hangouts, she FINALLY turned to me and asked "can I kiss you?" - I couldn't help but exclaim "FINALLY!!"

Lisa had been planning the proposal for many months. Originally, she was going to "pop the question" on our vacation in Glacier National Park, but after some additional thought, she started to get nervous about where to put the ring, how to find a photographer, unknown geography etc. So... she changed plans to proposing the day before we left for our vacation. On Saturday, August 21st, Lisa suggested that we go back to the place where we first met, Steady Hand Brewing. We arrived right as they opened and had the whole place to ourselves. We ordered a round of beers, sat down, and started reminiscing about our first date. When we were almost finished with our beers, Lisa suggested we go outside to take picture in front of the mural, and that is when it happened! Our amazing photographer was there to capture the whole moment for us. In hindsight, Chrissy noticed several things "off" about this day but at the time, she didn't suspect a thing!
