Birthplace of Pepsi Cola
New Bern is the birthplace of Pepsi-Cola! There is a small museum that is fun to walk through, grab a Pepsi, and enjoy some fresh popcorn.
Tryon Palace
New Bern was North Carolina's First State Capital. If you love history, check out the Governor's Palace, history center & beautiful gardens. Bonus-if you like the show/book Outlander, Tryon Palace is a key location! They even have specific Outlander tours available.

New Bern Farmers Market
Open on Saturdays from 8-2pm. Great selection of local produce, plants, farm raised meats, baked goods, arts and crafts, and so much more. One of our favorite vendors is a local couple who handpaints beautiful glassware products including butter dishes, oil olive bottles, wine glasses, soap dispensers, etc. We have several pieces in our home.

We love grabbing a drink here! It's tucked away down James Reed Lane. Our favorite bartender Brittany is always creating new seasonal drinks. Try the beetlejuice or campfire smores old fashion.
