Things To Do

Below are some of our favourite places in close proximity to our wedding venue if you decide to take a few days up in The Lakes for yourselves! We have listed a few of our favourite walks we have embarked on - and more importantly, our favourite pubs to hydrate in after those walks!

Rydal Cave

Rydal, England LA22 9LW, United Kingdom

A walk that we have taken with stunning views - and close by The Badger Bar where we love to go and have pint and watch the badgers having a night time snack!

Isthmus Bay

England CA12 5DL, United Kingdom

Our not so secret spot a 15 minute walk from the popular Derwentwater Jetties, this is one of the spots we regularly visit when we are around Keswick. Even in awful weather, Isthmus Bay offers stunning views to Catbells and over Derwentwater.

Surprise View

Borrowdale, England CA12 5UU, United Kingdom

A stunning view across Derwentwater. An easy drive until you get to the beautiful Ashness Bridge (we have struggled to get over in the BMW a couple times haha). A fairly even walk from Keswick until it gets a little steep on the assent to the view spot. Well worth a visit!

Strandshag Bay

England CA12 5DJ, United Kingdom

We have taken strolls here during rain and sun and never once have we had the same view. A beautiful location for a quiet walk.

Hole in t' Wall

Robinson Place, Bowness-on-Windermere, England LA23 3DH, United Kingdom

One of the many amazing pubs on our long list of recommendations in The Lakes!

Golden Rule

Smithy Brow, England LA22 9AS, United Kingdom

When visiting Ambleside, we always make a point of visiting The Golden Rule. From bumping into Paul Potts and making friends with dogs from far and wide, we really do love this place!

Drunken Duck Inn & Barngates Brewery

Barngates, England LA22 0NG, United Kingdom

A wonderful place introduced to us by Chris' sister Trish; The Drunken Duck serves some incredible food and a cracking pint and a bottle or two of wine. If you're thinking of staying for a couple of days, we can highly recommend taking a trip here.
