Troy grew up in Michigan and spent several years living abroad before eventually making his way to Dallas. Chris is a Texas native from Waco who had already settled here for work. Somehow, all those different places led us to the same city at exactly the right time. Like many modern love stories, ours started online. We planned a casual first date in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas and met for dinner. What was supposed to be a simple evening quickly turned into hours of easy conversation and plenty of laughs. Neither of us was quite ready for the night to end! So we decided to walk across the street to a neighborhood bar for another drink… and a game of pool. Chris won that first game (thanks to some quality coaching from Dad growing up). But somewhere between the friendly competition, the laughter, and realizing how comfortable we felt together, that ordinary night turned into something really special. That first date was over four years ago, and since then life has taken us all over the world together. From Mexico, Canada, Ireland, Czech Republic, France, England, and Italy, we’ve made some incredible memories exploring new places, trying new foods, and experiencing different cultures side by side. Troy has proven to be the best travel partner anyone could ask for, and discovering the world together has become one of our favorite things. But no matter how far we travel, our favorite place has always been wherever we are together. Now we’re so excited to celebrate the next chapter of our story with the people we love most.
