Chris and Tom met while attending Lincoln High School in Des Moines. In August of 1969, he asked her to be his date to the Homecoming Dance; it ended up being their only date. You will have to ask them if they remember why. In the years after graduation, high school reunions allowed Chris and Tom and their partners, Henry and Candy, to connect and spend time together. Tragically, cancer brought heart ache to Tom and Chris's lives and they reconnected in sharing their grief for their beloved spouses. They supported each other through a painful time and their friendship became a source of strength as they navigated this unimaginable stage in their lives. That friendship began to develop into something more by early 2024. Tom formally asked Chris to go on a date with him for dinner at Houston's in Milo, IA for Valentine's Day. Their love for each other grew with the time they spent together and was an unexpected surprise to both. On March 1, 2025 Tom proposed to Chris and she said yes! They look forward to their wedding day and the commitment they want to make to each other in the presence of their loved ones.
