Our Love Story

What started as something ordinary turned into everything. We had known each other for six years—just coworkers passing by in the rhythm of everyday life. Nothing unusual, nothing expected. But in 2022, something shifted. One phone call changed everything. I called Chris for help splitting a route. It was supposed to be quick—simple, practical, done in minutes. But instead of hanging up, we stayed on the phone… talking, laughing, connecting. Hours passed like they were nothing. And somehow, without either of us realizing it, that call became the beginning of us. From that day on, we talked every day. What started as convenience became comfort. What started as conversation became friendship. And before long, he wasn’t just someone I worked with—he was someone I could count on. When I asked him to come with me to my mom’s anniversary dinner, he didn’t hesitate. He showed up—not just physically, but fully present—and that meant more than I could explain. Chris has always been creative, but when he cares about someone, he takes it to another level. On Mother’s Day, he gave me something I’ll never forget: a handmade coupon book filled with all my favorite things. Movie nights, pool outings, little moments designed just for me. And of course, he didn’t stop there—he brought my favorite soda and candy too. It wasn’t just a gift. It was thoughtfulness, love, and intention wrapped into one. When I moved into my apartment, he was right there beside me, helping every step of the way. And when I had surgery on my foot, he stepped in without being asked—helping me move around, cooking, caring for the kids, making sure I was okay. He didn’t just show up in the good moments—he showed up when it mattered most. He planned a full three-day weekend for my birthday, and from then on, we spent almost every day together. Being around him just felt… right. Then came the moment that changed everything. Chris had gone out of town for a fashion show, and I was at work when I thought I heard something familiar—but I brushed it off. Later that day, I got home, walked into my bedroom, and there it was: a message board asking me to be his girlfriend, surrounded by flowers, my favorite stuffed animal, and my favorite soda sitting on my dresser. We were on the phone at the time, and I was trying so hard not to cry. Then I heard the door. Before I could even process it, he walked in—and I ran to him, hugged him tight, and said yes. From that moment on, it was us. We took a family cruise—something completely out of my comfort zone since I don’t even like water—but I made the best of it because I was with him. One night, he had me look out over the ship. It was dark, peaceful, and unexpectedly beautiful. Just like so many moments we’ve shared. Right before Christmas, we found out we were expecting a baby. Keeping that secret was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done—I was too excited. With the help of a friend, I found the perfect way to tell him. And soon after, we learned we were having a baby girl. In July 2024, we welcomed her into the world. That year wasn’t easy. It came with challenges, ups and downs—but through it all, Chris was my rock. Steady, loving, present. The kind of partner everyone hopes for but not everyone finds. We continued building our life together—taking our first big family trip to Six Flags in Dallas. Out of everyone, I think we were the ones having the most fun—laughing, riding rides, acting like big kids. Then came New Orleans for my birthday. Just when I thought he had already done everything imaginable, he still found ways to surprise me, to love me in new ways, to make every moment special. And then, one unforgettable day, during what I thought was just a family photo session, I turned around—and there he was, down on one knee. He asked me to marry him. And without a doubt, without hesitation, with a full heart… I said yes.
