How Chris and I Met

June 6, 2016

Chris and I met a little bit differently than most. We actually met online. Someone had told me about this "dating" website for people our age. I told her I was not going to get on it. Well, one day I was talking to my cousin about it and she said just do it, I think it'd be funny to see if anyone likes you. So I did it as a joke just getting on it to see the kind of people that were on there. Then, ta-da, I met Chris. We talked on the website for a good while. Then I gave him my snapchat info and we talked on there for about a month. I didn't want to give him my number because I didn't know him. Well, we decided we wanted to meet because we hit it off so well. We met in a public area and hit it off as if we knew each other our whole lives. Chris was such a gentleman. I had never met a guy so respectful as he. He didn't try any funny business, didn't hold my hand, didn't try to kiss me the first night. in fact, it was our 3rd date before he would even put his arm around me. It blew my mind that there were still good and respectful young men out there. It may be crazy to some but he asked me to marry him 6 months after we started dating. It took me by surprise, but there was something about him that just had me hooked and had me so in love with him. I didn't think I could be this happy in life. We have an awesome relationship, too. We don't argue, we get along great. He has seen me be a complete dork and he still loves me. We sit back and talk about some deep things in life and just get lost in conversation with each other. He has become my best friend and my rock. I know I can always fall back on him if anything ever happens. I'm so grateful to have met such a wonderful man like Chris.

The Proposal

December 25, 2016

It was Christmas morning, Chris handed me my present in a gift bag. I handed him his and he told me to open mine first. I began to take off the tape that he had put on the bag so I wouldn't peak, opened it up, and pulled out gift tissue. There was nothing in it lol. I looked at him and at the same time he got down on one knee and told me, "I don't want to get married right away but this is a promise we will get married." I couldn't believe it!!! My best friend and love of my life had just asked me to marry him! I gave him the biggest hug and obviously said YES! I broke into tears from being so overwhelmed with happiness. I did not see it coming at all.

For all the days along the way
