Are kids invited?

Answer

We would like this to be an adults-only celebration. We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! If you are concerned about childcare, please let us know and we'd be more than happy to help you find a babysitter in the area.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it were just you.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Our dress code is "Garden Party Attire" or Daytime Semiformal. Our reception will be outside in the Virginia countryside, so something light and summery is perfect. Most of the evening will be spent on grassy terrain, so please keep that in mind when choosing shoes. The Shenandoah Valley is also known for its epic thunderstorms, so please pack some rain gear in the car, just in case!

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the reception?

Answer

Unfortunately, because so many of the accommodation options are spread far and wide, we will not be offering a specific transportation service. Please keep this in mind as driving can be tricky at night on those windy back-country roads. We encourage you to have a DD plan in place *or* plan to camp out happily at Sommarbeth!
