Robin and Chris met online while she was living in Kansas but commuting to New York once a month for work. True to Chris, his dating profile was few in words but still made her laugh. Chris and Robin had several mutual interests, and a quick message to him sparked a couple weeks of back-and-forth texting and butterflies. They made plans to meet over Labor Day weekend of 2016, and their first date at Green Lakes State Park turned out to be the first day of the rest of their lives.
Robin had just finished a four-month military assignment in Texas, and Chris flew to the Lone Star State so that they could road trip back to New York together. Part of the trip involved a visit to Robin's parents' home in Leavenworth, KS, where the foundation of their relationship was built. Countless text messages and phone calls went back and forth while Robin spent time on Fort Leavenworth, and Chris picked the perfect spot to stop and propose while they spent the afternoon together there. It was casual, it was simple, and it was perfect.
