Barnes Foundation
One of the finest collections of impressionist and post-impressionist art in the world, including works by Monet, Cézanne, and Renoir. The intimate setting and thoughtful curations make this a more serene experience than other larger museums. Sunday 6/29 is the opening day for the new exhibit, From Paris to Provence. Featuring works by Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Vincent van Gogh, this collection of 50 paintings highlights the ways France — from the streets of Paris to the coasts of Normandy and the South of France — influenced the master painters of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Philadelphia Museum of Art
Famous for both its vast collection of artwork and the iconic Rocky Steps out front, this museum is a must-visit. Don’t miss the Rodin Museum nearby. A weekend visit offers plenty of time to explore both classic and modern exhibits.
Spruce Street Harbor Park
This seasonal outdoor park is a great spot for relaxation and fun. Enjoy hammocks, games, food trucks, and the view of the Delaware River. There are also pop-up bars and often live music on the weekends.
Independence National Historical Park
With Fourth of July right around the corner, it's a great time to explore the birthplace of American democracy. See the Liberty Bell (tip, you can look through the window on the side to see without waiting in line), tour Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence was signed (advanced reservations required), and explore Congress Hall and other historical buildings in the area. Consider a guided tour for deeper insights.
