In its Rotunda, the National Archives holds the original copies of the three main documents in American history: the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. It also hosts an original version of the 1297 Magna Carta.
The former residence of Marjorie Merriweather Post (the mother of actress Dina Merrill), Hillwood is known for its large decorative arts collection, including faberge eggs, eighteenth and nineteenth century art, and costumes. Its garden includes some of the country's finest orchid collections!
