We met freshman year of college at Loyola in Baltimore. What started as a friendship quickly turned into a loving relationship by sophomore year. Dating consisted of extensive hours at the library during the week and Fells Point or Federal Hill on the weekends. Outside of class, you could find us at our favorite places like Thames Stress Oyster House, Loyola Humanities Porch, Sherwood Tulip gardens, Ropewalk Tavern, or Crossbar. After college, we both moved back home with our families in New Jersey. Melissa commuted to Kean for her Masters in Speech Pathology. Chris traveled down to Grenada for Medical School. What we thought would be 2 years of long distance, turned into only 7 months due to the pandemic. Chris left the beautiful island of Grenada and came back to New Jersey. Melissa was so excited that Chris was home. The demands of medical school and the (short lived) distance was never an issue and our love for each other never dulled. When together on breaks we enjoyed day trips down the shore, walks at Natirar, and coffee dates. The year of 2023 was one of the best years yet. Chris graduated medical school and achieved his goal of becoming a medical resident at Morristown Medical Center. In August of 2023, we traveled down for our annual trip to Baltimore. That weekend we were able to enjoy our favorite dinner places and bar-hop out on the town. Before leaving the city to return home, we made a brief stop at Loyola. To Melissa's surprise (while maybe not in her favorite dress) Chris proposed to her in front of the Loyola Chapel. Our family showed up and surprised us with champagne and posters on the quad. That evening in celebration we enjoyed dinner at our new favorite restaurant, Tagliata.
