Thanks to high vaccination rates in Chicago, and the help of an outdoor reception venue, we are able to host a full event with singing and dancing. In order to do this safely, we kindly ask that all guests be fully vaccinated prior to attending. Masks will be worn indoors according to CDC guidelines and the City of Chicago's rules.
Your clothing is not as important to us as your attendance! But we'll be in suits and ties, so for the sake of consistency we think cocktail attire is appropriate. If you try and outdo us with a suede tuxedo, victorian ball gown, or Lady Gaga meat suit, you'll be tossed into the river.
That depends on how adventurous you are ;) If you prefer some time to freshen up: There is a Brown line subway stop just 2 blocks south of Holy Trinity Church, which will take you directly to the reception venue at the Merchandise Mart in about 20 minutes. The venue won't be open to guests until 5pm, but the wedding hotels are close by. It's also easy to get a ride-share or a cab back downtown from the church. If you prefer to start celebrating immediately: Instead of walking south, head east toward Wrigley Field. The Cubs game isn't until the evening and it isn't being played at Wrigley, but the bars around the stadium will still be lively. Grab a drink at the famous Cubby Bear, or check out the patio at Vines. Just make sure you head to the reception on time, lest you miss precious minutes of open bar!
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes. If not, we would prefer if it was just you.
Unfortunately we don't have space for kids at the reception (except where specifically noted on your invite), but they could certainly join us for the wedding ceremony and also for the welcome event Friday evening.
We recommend against driving, but see the "Travel and Hotels" section for parking info.
Along with marking any dietary restrictions on your online RSVP, feel free to contact us to ensure your restriction is noted.
