Chris and Marissa met when they arrived at MIT to start graduate school. They were quickly thrown into a crazy semester of classes, bonding with their beloved BioGrad 2013 classmates, and getting familiar with life in Boston. Soon, Chris selflessly started watching Seahawks games with Marissa so she would no longer have to watch them alone in her room. It quickly became clear they had a unique connection. Over the next few years they took on the ups and downs of grad school, explored new places and experiences, and began to build a life together.
When Marissa had the chance to go to Switzerland for a conference, she convinced Chris to go over a week early with her and travel the country. On the second day, they took a train to the terraced hillside vineyards of the Lavaux wine region. While wandering among the vines, Chris spotted the perfect perch from which to eat their snacks. Marissa took in the gorgeous view of the mountains and Lake Geneva while Chris dug around in his backpack for sustenance. When Marissa turned around, she found Chris holding a ring rather than a Cliff Bar. After a big Yes! the two enjoyed the view before making their way back to Montreaux. They then spent the rest of the week exploring the beautiful Swiss Alps as an engaged couple. What better way to celebrate our love than with a big party on Cape Cod with all of you?
