We met at our School for an in-service gathering. I was curious and drawn in. I kept curious and talked to her in passing here and there when possible. I loved her grace, fortitude, God-loving and fearing demeanor. I noticed her way with her two youngest children. I loved that we could talk so easily, so seamlessly. The small blessed moments led to bigger blessed moments. I got it in mind to ask her out, and that lunch over Spring break was really a blessing. Time seemed to freeze and yet slip by all at once. I fell in love with her, and I wanted to pursue her as a blessing in my life. I let her know my feelings in March, and she gave me her hand by April. God has been kind to us, and we are grateful for the opportunity He has given us. In Jesus' name
A nice evening date at the park was planned. I'd been asking her to have a picnic with me for a while, and I told her that this was the day. I'd gotten all the kids' support to make it a big pop-out surprise. I drove to pick her up and quickly snuck all of the decorations, and food and drinks in the back of her car. I drove her off in my car while her sister, children, nephew and niece followed minutes behind. While Ela and I strolled through the beautiful park, talked, laughed. The family was setting things up for a picnic to remember. I gave her little thoughtful gifts along our stroll and secretly hints that this was the day (Her daughter Lindsey gave me the inspiration to do this). Once the family had all set up, we took the long way back and I pretended to look for a perfect spot where we could have our picnic. I acted as though someone had set up a nice table right where I had hoped we could have eaten. As I got closer to the table, I got down on my knee and proposed in front of her hidden family members. Then all popped out. Each of our children had shirts with a different part of my proposal written on them. It read, "Will you be my wife, Beautiful?" She said, "Yes!", and it was a beautiful day. Family, pictures, food, snacks, drinks, dessert, and smiles! All very worth it
