Mariel and Chris How we met… Not all mistakes are bad. There are some nights when there is just nothing going on. No plans, nothing on TV, so you just go online and see if there is anything good there. When you are hoping for something good you just have to keep plugging away. Online dating is interesting for a little while and then the novelty wears off. Mariel was there. She was bored with the dating scene and with the night as well. As she sat on the sofa she swiped back and forth. No, no, yes, no, yes, yes…Ahi No! Swiped the wrong way. Oh well. Chris was wondering what was next in life. No experience with this scene and it was all so, just weird. He entered a profile on a whim and what was to come would be life changing. If only he could get by the masses of weirdos, basket cases and women in love with themselves. Huh! A match! Let’s see what happens. It was early in the morning and Chris got a message. “Good Morning” He stopped hiking to look down at the phone. “Wow, someone seeming normal sent a message.” She figured about the Oops, “Well maybe I can have a drink paid for and an hour of conversation” They talked on the phone briefly and set up a place to meet for a drink. He saw her walking up and immediately thought, “Wow, check out the emotional walls are up and fortified”. She thought, “This white guy? With hiking shoes, khaki pants and an orange shirt?” Both thought “Well, it is just a quick drink and some conversation.” They sat down at the bar and each got a Paloma. Well, at least the drink choice was easy. She said, “How are you?” His response, “I’m nervous” That is how it all began. The rest is history. Love arrives when it is least expected sometimes.
