We matched on a dating app and instantly connected (Maribell messaged first!). We met for dinner, and both felt very comfortable with each other immediately. We talked and laughed for hours. It felt like we had known each other forever - no questions and no hesitations. Since meeting each other 4 years ago, we have moved in together, adopted our cat Junie, and traveled. Life has thrown its share of challenges at us, including both of us being laid off within a month of each other. Through these challenges, we remained each other's #1 cheerleader and supporter. These hardships proved to us that we are stronger as a team and that we can get through anything together. Chris proposed first by leading Maribell on a puzzle/scavenger hunt to meaningful places in the city, ending in a picnic at Golden Gate Park, in the same spot where Maribell planned one of their first dates together. Maribell later proposed on a boat in front of the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. In our relationship, we value taking care of and listening to each other. We are best friends and make each other laugh all day. We prioritize intentionality and put effort into making each other feel special. We love going on adventures together, and we can't wait to continue building our lives together.
