In early March we saw the news that our home state, Colorado, was entering into a lockdown period in order to slow the spread of COVID-19. We knew then our plans to celebrate with all our family and friends would no longer be an option in 2020. However, nothing was going to hold us back from honoring our love and upholding the promise of marriage to each other. We rushed off to the DMV to obtain our wedding license the day before lockdown, and made arrangements with a small handful of friends we had in town to celebrate, socially distanced, with us on our wedding day. It was a beautiful and warm Spring day, considering we narrowly avoided a snowy forecast. Our mini-mony was held at a small park near the Briargate Mustangs Statue. We had a lovely view of Pikes Peak as our backdrop as we read a Maya Angelou poem to each other, shared our vows, exchanged rings, and pronounced ourselves Husband & Wife. Even with the few guests we had in attendance and some on Facetime, we felt surrounded by love the whole day. After taking more photos near Garden of the Gods, we went home to cook ourselves a romantic dinner and had a champagne toast to the beginning of our new life together. Our Wedding Day wasn't what we initially envisioned, but it was everything we hoped for - a day filled with nothing but love for each other. We cannot wait to celebrate and party with everyone, and introduce our newest family member, Jomiah Chase Breeze!
They've been inseparable since. Chris proposed to Mari 8 months later. She said yes!
