Our Story

In February 2023, we both happened to go to the same park with our church groups. Our first meeting didn't occur that day, only noticing each other from afar, but when our paths crossed again at a Bible study a few days later, Mal struck up a conversation and we both left knowing we wanted to see the other again. Fast forward a couple weeks, an invitation to join mutual friends playing pickleball, and Chris's smooth way of giving Mal his phone number, and a coffee date was scheduled. That date led to another the next day, and another the day after that, and almost every day since. It didn’t take long for us to both realize this was something special, and after only a few months there was no doubt for either of us that this was a forever thing. Chris asked Mal’s dad for his blessing, designed a beautiful ring, and surprised Mal one Friday morning in August during coffee and quiet time with a trip to Colorado Springs. At the spot where we first said “I love you”, Chris gave Mal a Bible with her new name on it and a photobook with their favorite memories from dating, and asked for a future of forever together. It was the easiest yes of Mal's life :) We are overjoyed to be a part of this beautiful story that was so evidently woven together by our good and loving God, and we are so grateful that we will have the privilege of displaying the Gospel of Jesus Christ through our marriage. We pray that our love for each other, though imperfect, will point to the unconditional, sacrificial love that came to rescue us from our sin and reconcile us to relationship with God. We know that we would not be here today if it weren’t for the support and influence of so many incredible people who have shaped us into the people we are today. Our community of family and friends is something we treasure deeply, and we want you to know the deep gratitude we have for each one of you. We hope to see you on January 14 as we make this covenant and celebrate all that God has done in bringing us together!
