Chris and I started out on Tinder (oh, the modern fairytale). He sent a very cheesy pickup line, I laughed, and then we decided to meet at Huey’s. What was supposed to be a quick first date turned into hours of talking and laughing. We stayed way longer than planned, completely losing track of time. The conversation was easy, the jokes landed, and time stood still. By the end of the night, it was clear this wasn’t just another first date!
Chris planned a full day out without giving anything away. We visited the Frist Art museum, grabbed lunch at Coco’s, and spent the afternoon exploring the city we had just moved to. One stop in particular was Belle Meade Winery. It was a perfect summer day, with flowers in bloom and magnolia trees all around. While I was still focused on sightseeing, Chris got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. We celebrated that night at Jimmy Kelly’s and opened a bottle from the winery we’d visited earlier that day; a simple, perfect ending to a day that turned out to be much more than expected.
