Bridesmaid
Joanna and I first met during one of the cold nights at Pilipino Culture Night in college at UCR, huddled together under the “magic carpet” blanket. From that night on, she’s been a constant in my life. Even if we don’t see each other every day, her presence is always felt. We’ve shared unforgettable adventures: traveling through Europe, celebrating Friendsmas, road-tripping to Vegas on Labor Day, and even playing Fortnite while she multitasked planning a bridal shower for her family. These days, Joanna is balancing her new path as a school librarian with her completion of becoming a yoga instructor, proving she’s as grounded as she is inspiring. Quiet but steady, she’s the kind of friend who shows up in the most meaningful ways, mixes the best cocktails and mocktails, and never says no to fangirling with me on Pride and Prejudice. Thank you Banana!
Bridesmaid
Jena has been part of my life since childhood, when I first started swimming competitively at 6 years old. Being on the same swim team, we’ve been connected ever since. From sleepovers at my house in the Philippines to roller-skating at hers, from long swim practices to swim meets, she’s been part of so many of my earliest memories. Reuniting in America, we picked up right where we left off, sharing laughter, tears, and of course, good food. Jena is resilient, responsible, and a romantic at heart. She works tirelessly in her career delivering babies, and I’ve always admired her perseverance and ability to keep going even when things get tough. At the same time, she never forgets how to have fun! Keep Traveling Jen and go see the world!
